Patland Estate Vineyards, located in Soda Canyon in southern Napa Valley, was established in 2007 by Henry and Olga Patland. Henry, who immigrated from Ukraine, previously co-founded a successful tech company before pursuing his dream of owning a winery. The couple was inspired to enter the wine industry after visiting Peju Winery in the 1980s. Their estate, named Terra del Cuore, spans 36 acres at an elevation of about 1,600 feet, with stunning views of the surrounding valley. Initially, the Patlands planted Italian grape varieties but later transitioned to Malbec after a trip to Mendoza, Argentina, and recommendations from their winemaker. The estate produces a range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Malbec, sourcing grapes from various Napa Valley vineyards. The winery emphasizes quality and balance in its wine production. Visitors to Patland Estate can expect a welcoming experience, with the property offering picturesque views and a Tuscan-style home, which was rebuilt after being destroyed in the 2017 Atlas Peak fire. The winery also produces a limited release of varietal wines and blends, showcasing the unique terroir of the region.
