Pellet Estate

St Helena, CA

Pellet Estate, located in St. Helena, has deep roots in Napa Valley's winemaking history, being founded by Henry Pellet, the second commercial winemaker in the region. Pellet, who immigrated from Switzerland in 1848, established his winery, Pellet & Carver, in 1866. The estate's original winery structure still stands, although it is in need of restoration. After several ownership changes, the estate was acquired in 2005 by Greg Krill and Robin Rocha, who modernized the vineyard practices. The winery is currently managed by Eric Risch, who collaborates with winemaker Tom Rinaldi, a veteran of the Napa Valley wine scene. Pellet Estate produces a variety of wines, including Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with an emphasis on quality and distinct styles. Their Chardonnays are crafted from Sunchase Vineyard grapes, offering both oaked and unoaked options. The Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon showcase a blend of traditional and modern techniques, resulting in elegant and food-friendly wines. Visitors to Pellet Estate can expect a welcoming tasting experience, reflecting the winery's commitment to quality and heritage in Napa Valley winemaking.
