Frog's Leap Winery, established in 1981, is situated in the Rutherford Appellation of Napa Valley, on the historic site of the Adamson Winery. Co-founder and winemaker John Williams, who has a rich history in Napa, was the first employee at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and played a role in the famous 1976 Paris Tasting. The winery, which began with a modest production of Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel, has grown to emphasize sustainable and organic farming practices, becoming Napa Valley's first officially certified organic winery in 1989. The winery operates primarily by appointment for tastings and tours, which last around 90 minutes and offer a relaxed, educational experience. The staff is noted for their friendliness and knowledge, enhancing the visitor experience. Frog's Leap is recognized for its commitment to dry farming and producing balanced, food-friendly wines with restrained alcohol levels, all while maintaining affordability. The property features a remodeled red barn, solar panels for sustainability, and beautiful gardens, creating a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Frog's Leap also owns several vineyards in the area, including the historic Rossi Ranch, further contributing to its legacy in Napa Valley winemaking.
