pureCru Wines, located in Napa Valley, was founded by winemaker Mitch Cosentino and a group of partners, including a grocer broker and an oncologist, with a focus on small-lot, handcrafted wines. Currently owned by the Scotto family of Scotto Cellars, Mitch has a long history in winemaking, having started his career in 1980 and being involved in the construction of several wineries in Napa. He has produced award-winning wines and has a reputation for sourcing grapes from premium vineyards in Napa and Northern California. The winery's offerings include a variety of wines such as a 100% varietal Chardonnay, a Sangiovese blend called Sangio Vetta, and a Cabernet Sauvignon known as Secret 7. Visitors can taste these wines by appointment at Spelletich Winery, where Mitch currently produces pureCru wines. Previously, the winery had tasting experiences at various locations, including a partnership with Feast it Forward in downtown Napa. With an annual production of around 2,000 cases, pureCru emphasizes wines that pair well with food, aligning with Mitch's philosophy as a winemaker.
