Pym-Rae, Tesseron Estate is located on Mt. Veeder in Napa Valley, California, and was purchased by the Tesseron family from France in January 2016. The estate, originally owned by actor Robin Williams, spans over 650 acres, with approximately 18 acres dedicated to vineyards primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, along with some Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The vineyard is divided into two steeply sloped sections known as the lower and upper blocks. The Tesserons have shifted the vineyard's management to dry farming, which has improved grape quality despite reducing yields. They focus on producing a single wine each year that reflects the vineyard's unique characteristics. Their inaugural vintage, the 2016 Pym-Rae, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, showcasing a balance of fruit and barrel aromas. Currently, the wines are produced in a dedicated cellar at another winery while plans for a 15,000-square-foot cave winery on the property were approved in mid-2025. Pym-Rae wines are available for purchase online and at select retail locations in Napa.
