Val-du-Layon, Pays de la Loire

Raymond Vineyards, established in 1971 by Roy Raymond and his sons, has a rich history in Napa Valley, tracing back to Roy's arrival in 1933 as a cellar worker at Beringer Winery. The family initially purchased 90 acres near St. Helena, and over the years, expanded to over 300 acres, with a focus on organic and biodynamic farming practices. In 1989, Kirin Brewery acquired a majority stake, and in 2009, the winery was sold to the Boisset Family, known for their innovative approach to wine and hospitality. The winery features a range of tasting experiences, including the opulent Crystal Cellar, which showcases Cabernet Sauvignon and offers a unique ambiance with its glamorous decor. The Red Room provides a more intimate setting for limited production wines. The Theatre of Nature, an outdoor garden, educates visitors on biodynamic practices and serves as a popular photo spot. Raymond Vineyards produces a diverse selection of wines, with a primary focus on Cabernet Sauvignon. Their offerings include distinctive whites and reds, such as the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2015 Rutherford Merlot. The winery's commitment to quality and creativity has made it a notable destination in Napa Valley.
