Realm Cellars, located in Napa Valley, was founded in 2002 by Juan Mercado and Wendell Laidley. Initially, wines were produced at Sherwin Family Winery, later moving to Laird Estate and Chateau Boswell. The winery sources grapes from prestigious vineyards, including Dr. Crane and To Kalon, and has estate vineyards in the Stags Leap District, Coombsville, and Pritchard Hill. Scott Becker became managing partner in 2012, with winemaker Benoit Touquette joining in 2011. Realm Cellars focuses on meticulous vineyard management and winemaking, employing advanced technology for monitoring vineyard conditions. They produce both red and white wines, with notable offerings including Sauvignon Blanc from Farella and Gamble Vineyards, and their flagship red blend, The Bard, which showcases Napa Valley's diverse terroir. Visitors can expect a commitment to quality and detail, as evidenced by the use of innovative cork technology and authentication measures for their wines. Despite facing challenges, such as the loss of their 2003 vintage in a warehouse fire, Realm has successfully established itself as a creative and detail-oriented winery, blending artistry with winemaking.
