Retro Cellars, located in Napa Valley, is a family-owned winery founded by Mike and Kara Dunn. The winery focuses primarily on Petite Sirah, alongside a few other red varietals, and notably does not produce Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard, situated at approximately 1,800 feet elevation, has a history of low yields due to its old vines, which were replanted in 2016. Retro Cellars also produces unique wines from Peloursin, a lesser-known grape variety, and recently ventured into sparkling wine using this grape. Visitors can expect a personalized tasting experience, as the winery produces only a few hundred cases annually, with limited distribution. The wines are characterized by moderate alcohol levels and traditional winemaking methods, reflecting a commitment to quality and family heritage.
