Road 31 Wine Co, previously known as Green Truck Cellars, is a small winery located in Napa Valley, owned and operated by Kent Fortner. Since 2001, he has produced a limited annual release of Napa Valley Pinot Noir, primarily sold through a quickly filled mailing list. The wine is sourced from vineyards in the cooler Carneros region, specifically Green Island Vineyard and Stanly Ranch, with production typically around 700 cases. Green Island Vineyard, situated south of Napa, benefits from the cooling effects of the nearby San Pablo Bay, while Stanly Ranch, with a history dating back to the mid-1800s, is slightly warmer yet still influenced by the bay's climate. Kent's winemaking philosophy emphasizes the unique characteristics of these cooler sites, sourcing various Pinot Noir clones.
