Robert Sinskey Vineyards

Napa, CA

Robert Sinskey Vineyards, established in 1986 by Dr. Robert Sinskey in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, has a rich history intertwined with the medical field. Dr. Sinskey, a noted ophthalmologist, transitioned from grape growing to winemaking, with the winery opening in 1988. After his passing in 2015, his son Rob and daughter-in-law Maria took over operations. The winery, known for its focus on balanced wines that pair well with food, has expanded its portfolio beyond the initial offerings of Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Chardonnay, avoiding a primary focus on Cabernet Sauvignon. In late 2022, the winery's physical property was sold to the Wonderful Company, while the Sinskeys retained their wine business. They have since acquired new land in Carneros, where they plan to implement regenerative farming practices and maintain a sustainable operation powered by solar energy. Visitors can currently find Robert Sinskey wines at a retail location in downtown Napa, with plans for future hospitality offerings. The winery emphasizes organic and biodynamic farming, producing wines that are designed to age well and reflect the terroir of their vineyards.
