Romeo Vineyards

Calistoga, CA

Romeo Vineyards & Cellars, located in northern Napa Valley near Calistoga, is owned by Frank Romeo, who established the winery with his late wife, Eugenia, in 1996. The couple initially purchased the 45-acre property as a weekend retreat, and their first vintage was a Cabernet Sauvignon in 1997. The vineyard, named "Blue Heron" in honor of a bird killed during negotiations for the land, spans 25 acres and features a unique knoll rising from the valley floor. Eugenia was instrumental in the winery's public presence, while Alison Green-Doran has been the winemaker since its inception. Romeo Cellars produces wines under the label Sempre Vive, reflecting the dynamic nature of wine. The estate primarily grows red varieties, with white grapes sourced from premium vineyards. The tasting room, opened in 2014, is housed in a remodeled carriage house and offers an outdoor space with lush landscaping and a pizza oven for seasonal events. Visitors can enjoy a serene atmosphere, live music, and a diverse library of wines, making it a unique destination in Napa Valley.
