Roy Estate

Napa, CA

Roy Estate is located in the Soda Canyon area of Napa Valley, established by Charles and Shirley Roy in 1999. Following Charles's passing in 2010, Shirley sold the estate to Stephan Crétier and Stephanie Maillery in 2017, while remaining as the Brand Ambassador. The estate spans 17 acres, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, and is noted for producing high-quality wines, particularly Petit Verdot. The vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate, characterized by rolling hills and a southerly exposure, which allows for even growing conditions. Renowned winemaker Philippe Melka has crafted the wines since their inaugural vintage in 2005, focusing on balance and complexity. Roy Estate produces two main wines: a proprietary red called Mr. Evans and a Cabernet Sauvignon, both of which showcase the estate's terroir. Visitors can experience the estate's scenic views and the rich history of the land, which was once home to Wappo Indian camps. The winery emphasizes meticulous vineyard management and employs advanced irrigation techniques to ensure optimal grape quality.
