Schweiger Vineyards, located on Spring Mountain in Napa Valley, was established by Fred Schweiger, who purchased the original 8 acres in 1961 at the age of 19. The vineyard produced its first commercial vintage in 1994, after initially selling grapes to other wineries. The winery is family-owned, with Fred and his wife Sally actively involved, alongside their son Andy, who serves as the winemaker, and their daughter, who handles sales and distribution. The vineyard benefits from unique microclimates and diverse soil types, primarily growing Cabernet Sauvignon, along with smaller quantities of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery produces a range of wines, including a popular Bordeaux-style blend called "Dedication," and a fortified wine known as "Iteration." Their wines are noted for their quality and aging potential, often released after extended aging. Visitors can enjoy an Estate Tasting Experience that includes a tour of the winery and tastings in a modern tasting room, with outdoor seating available. An All Terrain Vineyard Experience offers guided rides through the vineyards. The winery is committed to sustainability, operating entirely on solar power.
