Sherwin Family Vineyards is a boutique winery situated in the Spring Mountain district of Napa Valley, accessible via a scenic road from St. Helena. Founded by Steve and Linda Sherwin, the winery began as a grape-growing venture with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The first vintage was produced in 1996, with Steve serving as winemaker and vineyard manager, while his son Matt now handles much of the winemaking. The winery features a chalet-style building surrounded by fir trees, creating a home-like atmosphere for visitors. Tasting experiences are relaxed and often held outdoors on a stone patio overlooking a pond and vineyards. A unique aspect of the winery is a floating green in the pond, where guests can participate in a charity golf challenge. In September 2020, the winery was devastated by the Glass Fire but was rebuilt by early 2023, maintaining its original charm. Sherwin Family Vineyards produces a range of wines, including a well-regarded estate Cabernet Sauvignon, a rosé, and a Chardonnay. The winery is also notable for being the only U.S. winery to feature the U.S. flag on its labels, with proceeds from certain wines supporting military charities.
