Sleeping Giant Winery, located in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, is owned by Chris Dearden, a seasoned winemaker with over 35 years of experience in the industry. Dearden, who studied viticulture and enology at UC Davis, has worked with several notable producers and has a diverse winemaking background. He established Sleeping Giant Winery in 2006 after purchasing 11.21 acres of land that had never been used for grape growing. The winery produces wines under four brands, including Sleeping Giant, and focuses primarily on Pinot Noir, with ten acres planted to five different clones. The winery itself, completed in 2021, features modern facilities for both Dearden's wines and custom crush clients. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the production area and barrel room, with a tasting experience enhanced by picturesque views of the surrounding vineyards. Sustainability is a priority at Sleeping Giant, utilizing a Biofiltration system for wastewater and solar energy for power. The winery's hospitality area offers a scenic setting for sunset views, making it a unique destination in Napa Valley.
