Sodhani Vineyards is a 6-acre hillside vineyard located north of St. Helena, owned by Arvind and Beverly Sodhani. Arvind, a former Intel executive, developed a passion for wine while studying in London and has since focused on Bordeaux and Burgundy. The couple purchased the property in 2013, which holds personal significance as their wedding site. They favor hillside vineyards with east-facing slopes, which contribute to the unique terroir and grape acidity. The vineyard, planted in 2000, primarily grows three clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Merlot previously blended into their wines. The Sodhanis hand-harvest their grapes, often starting at 2 AM, to ensure optimal quality. They produce two wines annually: the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its fruit-forward character, and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which is more complex and cellar-worthy. Both wines are aged in new French oak barrels. The vineyard is farmed by Thomas Brown, a highly regarded winemaker in Napa Valley. Despite challenges in 2020 due to the Glass Fire, Sodhani Vineyards continues to distribute its wines selectively in Napa and the San Francisco Bay Area, with options for direct purchase through their wine society.
