Spoto Wines

Sacramento, CA

Spoto Wines, established in 2004 by Stuart Spoto, is located in Sacramento, California, and is recognized as the city's first bonded "garagiste" winery. Stuart, who has a background in Chemical/Civil Engineering, began his winemaking journey assisting his father, Henry, in home winemaking since the early 1990s. The family sources grapes from a vineyard in Oakville, surrounded by notable wineries, emphasizing quality and cleanliness in their winemaking process. The winery produces a range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, red blends, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, with a focus on lighter styles for events and club members. Notable offerings include the 2013 Oakville Chardonnay and the 2012 Oakville Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, both showcasing the winery's commitment to quality. A portion of the proceeds from the Judy Ann Cuvée is donated to cancer research. Tastings are available in Sacramento or Rutherford, led by Stuart, and cater to serious wine enthusiasts. Spoto Wines primarily sells directly to consumers, with select availability in Napa Valley restaurants. For more information, visitors can check their website.
