Staglin Family Vineyard is located in the less frequented southern region of the Rutherford Appellation in Napa Valley. Founded by Sharalyn (Shari) and Garen Staglin in 1985, the vineyard spans nearly 62 acres, with 51 acres dedicated to premium grape varieties, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, along with smaller plantings of Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, and Sangiovese. The winery emphasizes limited production, focusing on quality wines crafted from estate-grown grapes. The Staglins have a rich history in Napa Valley, with roots tracing back to the 1960s. Their property was formerly owned by notable figures, including Serranus Clinton Hastings, California's first Chief Justice. The winery operates from an underground cave system, designed for optimal wine production. Visitors can experience the vineyard's commitment to philanthropy through the annual Music Festival for Brain Health, which raises significant funds for mental health research. The winery is also recognized for its contributions to various charitable events, having raised over $1 billion to date. Staglin wines, particularly their Cabernet Sauvignon, are known for their complexity and aging potential, reflecting the vineyard's dedication to quality winemaking.
