Teaderman Vineyards

Calistoga, CA

Teaderman Vineyards, located in Oakville, Napa Valley, is owned by Stan and Patti Teaderman. Stan, a long-time Napa resident, has a rich history in both the propane business and the wine industry. The couple purchased their 14-acre vineyard in 1978, initially planting it with Sauvignon Blanc grapes under the guidance of Robert Mondavi. Over time, they transitioned to Cabernet Sauvignon, capitalizing on the vineyard's prime terroir. The winery produces limited quantities of both Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a distinctive aging process that often exceeds two years before release. This approach, influenced by nearby Silver Oak, allows for a careful evaluation of the wines' readiness based on their flavor and balance. The Sauvignon Blanc is noted for its refreshing characteristics, while the Cabernet Sauvignon showcases rich fruit flavors and well-integrated tannins. Teaderman Vineyards is not open to the public for tastings, but interested individuals can join their mailing list for updates on releases. The Teadermans are also recognized for their philanthropic contributions to the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
