The Calling Wines

St Helena, CA

Colgin Cellars, established in 1992 by Ann Colgin, is located in Napa Valley and has a rich history tied to its founder's background in fine art and wine. Ann's journey into winemaking began after her introduction to Napa Valley through a wine auction in 1988. She partnered with winemaker Helen Turley and sourced grapes from the Lamb Vineyard for their first release in 1992. Colgin Cellars owns two primary vineyards: Tychson Hill in St. Helena and IX Estate on Pritchard Hill, and holds a long-term lease on Cariad Vineyard. The winery emphasizes terroir, focusing on hillside vineyards that enhance the expression of fruit and soil characteristics. The IX Estate vineyard is notable for its unique elevation and soil composition, while Tychson Hill boasts a historical pedigree dating back to the 1860s. Colgin's winemaking process includes meticulous hand-sorting and fermentation techniques, overseen by winemaker Allison Tauziet. Visitors to Colgin Cellars experience a high-caliber wine tasting environment, with wines that reflect the estate's dedication to quality. In 2017, LVMH acquired a 60% stake in Colgin, furthering its prominence in the Napa Valley wine scene.
