The Debate Wine is a Napa Valley winery co-founded by winemaker Jean and investor Rob, who initially connected through Alpha Omega Winery. Jean, a Swiss native, is known for his expertise in sourcing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon from exceptional vineyards, creating wines characterized by intense flavors and bright acidity. The winery's first vintage was in 2010, focusing on single vineyard wines primarily from Beckstoffer-owned sites. Currently, The Debate produces six single vineyard, single varietal wines, including three 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and three 100% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are located in the Vaca Mountains, with elevations ranging from 500 to 1,100 feet, and are known for their unique terroir. Notable vineyard sites include BRION Estate, Denali Vineyard, and Sacrashe Vineyard, each contributing distinct characteristics to the wines. Visitors can expect a tasting experience that emphasizes the nuances of each vineyard, with wines crafted for both aging and immediate enjoyment. The Debate's offerings highlight the complexity and quality of Napa Valley's terroir, appealing to serious wine enthusiasts.
