Turley Wine Cellars is situated just north of St. Helena along Highway 29. Founded by Dr. Larry Turley, a former emergency room physician, the winery has a rich history that includes the co-founding of Frog’s Leap Winery. Larry established Turley Cellars in 1993 after selling his interest in Frog’s Leap, and he has since expanded his operations to include three wineries and two tasting rooms across California. Turley Wine Cellars specializes in high-quality, old-vine Zinfandel and Petite Syrah, producing over 50 wines sourced from more than 50 vineyards. The Napa Valley production focuses on three estate-owned vineyards, including two on Howell Mountain and the Turley Estate Vineyard in St. Helena. The winery emphasizes organic farming practices and the preservation of ancient vineyards. While Turley Wine Cellars does not have a public tasting room at its St. Helena location, it operates a tasting room in Templeton, showcasing wines from Paso Robles and other regions. Visitors can enjoy intimate tastings led by knowledgeable staff, highlighting the unique characteristics of their wines.
