TWOMEY, pronounced "two-me," is a winery founded in 1999 by the Duncan family, who are also the co-founders of Silver Oak. The winery's name honors their grandmother, Velma Twomey. Originally focused on Cabernet Sauvignon, TWOMEY shifted its emphasis to Merlot after discovering that their Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard, purchased in 1999, was planted with this varietal. However, they ceased Merlot production after 2016 and now primarily produce Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The winery has undergone significant changes, including the permanent closure of its tasting rooms in Calistoga and Anderson Valley as of early 2025, with operations now centered in Sonoma County. TWOMEY sources grapes from both estate and partner vineyards, including notable sites in Oregon and Monterey County. Visitors previously enjoyed a modern tasting room experience with high-quality glassware, though it is no longer operational. TWOMEY continues to produce a range of wines, with a focus on quality and varietal expression, reflecting the family’s commitment to winemaking excellence.
