Vineyard 7 & 8 is situated on Spring Mountain in Napa Valley, where founders Launny and Weezie Steffens acquired 40 acres in 1999. The winery, constructed between 2004 and 2008, features an impressive 8,000-square-foot cave and is located at an elevation of over 2,000 feet, making it part of a select group of mountain vineyards. The Steffens preserved some of the original Chardonnay vines from 1981 and planted additional varieties, focusing primarily on Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery emphasizes meticulous vineyard management, with grapes harvested at optimal ripeness. Vineyard 7 & 8 offers a unique visitor experience, highlighted by stunning views and a striking entrance featuring a large copper door. Inside, guests can enjoy tastings paired with cheeses in a beautifully designed space. Winemaker Martha McClellan oversees the production of wines that showcase the estate's terroir, including a limited-production red blend called Block Six. The winery has transitioned from wholesale to direct-to-consumer sales, and the Steffen family's son, Wesley, serves as the Estate Director and Assistant Winemaker.
