Volker Eisele Family Estate

St Helena, CA

Volker Eisele Family Estate, established in 1974 in Chiles Valley, Napa, was founded by Volker and Liesel Eisele. Volker, originally from Germany, passed away in 2015, leaving a legacy in the Napa wine community. The estate spans 400 acres, with 60 acres planted to vines, primarily focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties. The Eisele family has a strong commitment to organic farming, having been certified since the early 1990s, and employs a holistic approach to vineyard management. Today, the estate is managed by Volker and Liesel's son, Alexander, and his wife, Catherine. The winery produces around 4,000 cases annually, with wines made at a custom crush facility. Visitors can enjoy personalized tastings led by family members in a secluded vineyard setting, away from the hustle of Napa Valley. The estate's winemaking philosophy emphasizes the unique terroir of Chiles Valley, which is cooler than other Napa regions, allowing for a longer growing season. The wines include a range of offerings, such as the highly regarded Terrzetto blend and the Las Flores Cabernet Sauvignon, both showcasing the estate's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
