WaterMark Wine is a boutique winery located in Napa Valley, owned by Phil Steinschriber and his wife Diane. Phil has over 30 years of winemaking experience, notably as the former winemaker at Diamond Creek Vineyards, where he gained recognition for crafting high-quality Cabernet Sauvignons. The couple established WaterMark after marrying in 2011 and acquiring a 14-acre property on Howell Mountain, where they planted their first vines in 2020, focusing primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon. Phil's winemaking philosophy emphasizes balance and mouthfeel, producing wines that are concentrated yet approachable. His wines are handcrafted in a Bordeaux style, utilizing hand-harvested grapes and small French oak barrels for aging. WaterMark typically produces two wines annually, including a Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with a total production of around 500 cases per vintage. Although WaterMark does not have a public tasting room, their wines can be purchased directly from their website or at select local retailers. The winery is known for its commitment to quality and the unique characteristics of its hillside vineyard fruit.
