Fairwinds Estate Winery is situated south of Calistoga along the Silverado Trail, having been established in 2015 by Brandon Chaney and Anthony Zabit after purchasing the former Cuvaison Winery site. The winery opened its tasting room in January 2016 but faced significant challenges when the Glass Fire of 2020 destroyed the tasting room and caused extensive damage to the property. Currently, tastings are available only for wine club members, conducted outdoors in the olive garden or inside the wine cave. The winery spans 15 acres, primarily consisting of rugged hillside, with plans to plant a small vineyard in the future. Fairwinds produces a range of wines, including Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from both Napa Valley and Sonoma County. The winemaker, Todd Heth, continues to craft wines that reflect the region's heritage. In response to the fire, Fairwinds has adapted its business model, creating private label wines for various clients, including sports teams and entertainment figures. The winery also acquired the Valley Floor Vineyard brand, producing limited wines under that label. Despite the setbacks, Fairwinds Estate Winery remains committed to its growth and community engagement.
