Whitehall Lane Winery, located in the Rutherford Appellation of Napa Valley, is a family-owned winery established in 1993 by the Leonardini family. The winery's history dates back to 1979 when it was purchased by Art and Bunnie Finklestein, who later sold it to Japanese businessman Hideaki Ando. Tom Leonardini, who has a background in the car rental industry, acquired the winery after opening a wine shop in San Francisco. The Leonardini family has since expanded their vineyard holdings to over 200 acres, sourcing grapes primarily from their own sites. The winery is known for producing a diverse range of premium wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which are well-balanced and food-friendly. Whitehall Lane has embraced innovative practices, being one of the first in Napa to use screw cap enclosures and glass Vino-Seal closures to prevent spoilage. The winery also focuses on sustainability, having installed solar panels and achieved Napa Green certification. Visitors can enjoy a variety of award-winning wines, including a notable 1997 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The tasting experience is enhanced by the winery's commitment to quality and unique offerings, such as their first sparkling wine, a Blanc de Noirs, released in 2021.
